Portrait of an Altruist

This fine citizen saved this lost and forgotten kitten from imminent peril in the woods of Durham Township!

Post-processing: Multiple curves adjustments, color balancing to remove blue overtones, overall de-saturation, black 'grunge' brush in 'overlay' mode at 8%, black 'drybrush' brush in 'multiply' mode at 16%.

Thanks for stopping by, and thank you for all of the nice comments the last few posts! Sorry I haven't done much responding - getting ready for my show is taking up a lot of my time now. But I still love you. :)

Such pensive, innocent beauty in this picture - I love it!

I am so impressed by your vision of common life... these smoky eyes of a girl have just touched my heart... thank you for your extraordinary talent, I am a great fan of your pictures! Irina, Russia, Kazan-city.

You have some spectacular work. Each is more breathe-taking than the next. What camera do you shoot with? And how much do you manipulate in the computer?

There is a massive potential in this photo.
The picture deserves to be sold.

As I went to each image I marveled at your incredible photography. Then this one stopped me. The eyes, expression and a rescued kitten. Emotional and beautiful.

You've got some beautiful work out here, Kathleen. I think this one's certainly one of the finest, but you know what just struck me a bit with the girl's eyes in this photo? It reminds me of Catholic statues I've seen. I *know* there's some Immaculate Conception sort of depiction of Mary somewhere that this makes me think of.

And if she saved that little kitten, there might be a lil' spark of Divine Light for sure. :D

Sorry to be the bearer of possible bad news but I have seen this on the above website belonging to Laurel Jacobs claiming it as her work!!!!

She has recently been banned from a website called Photography-Cafe for publishing stolen images!!!

Superb work you do by the way.
