Feeding the Seagulls
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photograph is another taken from my rainy vacation last week at the beach. Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D YOU'RE INVITED! Come see about 20 printed and framed images from A Walk Through Durham Township at Gallery 14 in Hopewell, New Jersey, beginning TONIGHT through Sunday, August 27th. My exhibit called The Value of the Land is showing alongside Gallery 14 member Jim Hilgendorf's exhibit called Trucks and Truckers. Jim's work is wonderful! Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
this is beautiful.... beautiful! i especially like the top center gull, like a giant white-gray hummingbird. Posted by thlayli on July 14, 2006 5:38 AMKathleen, honestly, that shots a classic. The shapes made by the seagulls around that lass are perfect, as is her stance, and then to have such a great exposure and those people behind. Everyone knows your class at shooting landscapes. Depressingly, you're now proving you're just as adept at photographing people. Nice one. Posted by luke on July 14, 2006 6:40 AMBeautiful tones... Posted by joe on July 14, 2006 6:41 AMgreat action shot! :) Posted by david kleinert on July 14, 2006 7:13 AMSometimes rainy vacations can produce some great photographic opportunities. I love the way you've captured the seagulls in flight, very dynamic. The other people down the beach add a nice sense of depth to the image. Posted by Steve W on July 14, 2006 7:52 AMI agree Kathleen. This shot is close to perfect in the realm of images on the web. I want to be there. Posted by Crank on July 14, 2006 8:58 AMIncredible. Posted by f. d. rahman on July 14, 2006 12:36 PMSuch a dynamic shot. Maybe concentrating on the girl feeding the gulls and cropping away the rest would improve the picture... just a suggestion. :) Posted by PlasticTV on July 14, 2006 1:04 PMAmazing. An image full of life! Posted by KPK on July 14, 2006 3:03 PMgreat shot and sense of the movement of birds. Posted by photoblog-community on July 14, 2006 3:03 PMYou caught a great moment here. Posted by mari on July 17, 2006 1:03 PMKeep us posted on your gallery exhibits. I'll be up in NJ during the Thanksgiving holidays and would LOVE to come see your work. Posted by mari on July 17, 2006 1:04 PMCrop this photo square, just right of the couple on the left, and you have an even better (stronger) composition, I believe. Just the girl, and the gulls and the beach. Crop this photo square, just right of the couple on the left, and you have an even better (stronger) composition, I believe.
