Cousin Mike on a Flooded Basketball Court

This photograph was taken today at a public park in a nearby town. The basketball court is built a few inches below ground level and doubles as a skating rink in the winter. It was flooded from the heavy rains we had this past weekend.

This is an irresistable place to shoot and I think I'll be going back again soon. :)

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L with Circular Polarizer at 17mm, ISO 200, 1/1000s at f/8. Curves adjustments for contrast and saturation, color balancing for tone.

You've managed to capture great beauty even in a true inconvenience. Awesome!

It must have been fun to dribble the ball through the water. Great action, the splash, the ball inthe air, and both feet off the ground...great!

Did he make the shot?

An excellent job done freezing time. I think I'm in love with the idea of a flooded basketball court, you did an excellent job getting some reflections out of the water. The wide angle appeals to me as well. Cool shot.

A little off subject, but I hope that you get photos of the house by the Riegelsville Bridge. An event worth recording in our local area.

I like the perspective -- really wide angle view.

I wonder though, have they ever considered starting "ice basketball"?
Might be.. rather interesting.

Looks like an advertisement of some kind of sport shoes :) And the quality of the photo is as good as at the commercials.

Fresh and spacious shots make me breathe deeper.

thought-update: this reminds me of a commercial (wich is broadcasted in Holland a lot lately) of Sprite. Some guys are resting from playing basketball. After they drink Sprite limonade, they dive into the basketball-court. You see the gravel and lines, but it splashes up when they are diving in. Well ehrm, I just wanted to mention this...
