Cooks Creek Frog
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photograph was taken yesterday in Cooks Creek on our first 'summery' day this year. Frogs were everywhere. Kids were catching frogs. Adults were wincing as the frogs were accidentally dropped. :) Thank you for visiting Durham Township! -- Kathleen Comments
Loving that toothless expression (the boy, not the frog!) what a great shot. Posted by keith on May 11, 2007 8:11 AMThe boy looks happy. The frog... not so much. :) Nice one, Kathleen! Posted by Judith Polakoff on May 11, 2007 8:19 AMThis is a fantastic shot, Kathleen. Tons of personality and character, and perfect use of selective focus with a wide aperture. This image speaks to the kid that's in all of us. Posted by Jim Crotty on May 11, 2007 8:23 AMHow perfect is that? I love it. Posted by Mark on May 11, 2007 8:34 AMI love this, and was not expecting to see the frog as the photo scrolled down! Posted by Sandy on May 11, 2007 9:00 AMThis is one of your best shots in my opinion Kathleen. The depth is both effective and intriguing, and the composition is great, you've filled the frame well. Posted by Justin Gaynor on May 11, 2007 9:01 AMGreat photography, amazing! Posted by Paulo Jorge Oliveira on May 11, 2007 10:22 AMWonderful! I don't know who's got the best expression, frog or boy. I'd like to know what that frog is thinking, though. One of your best! Posted by RD on May 11, 2007 10:32 AMaww... this is such a beautiful shot. This shot is a great encore to The Calf Barn. I LOVE it! It's wonderful "slice of life" image. I love how the frame is completely filled with just frog, hand, and face. The slightly out-of-focus, smiling face behind the frog just completes the shot and tells the rest of the story. Posted by Russ on May 11, 2007 10:58 AMThat is a great photo. Posted by Richard on May 11, 2007 11:03 AMLove the DOF and composition Kathleen! Excellent shot. Posted by Craig on May 11, 2007 11:21 AMGreat capture. Posted by Daniel on May 11, 2007 12:08 PMkiss the unhappy prince anyone......Kathleen.....ANYBODY? You've been on a roll, now things are hoppin',thanks to the sad prince, the smiling pauper and Kathleen. Will the prince be getting royalties? (oops) Posted by david tinnon on May 11, 2007 1:51 PMI love the photo. I love frogs, and I love the depth of field. And the boy is so happy. I can't wait to get a macro lens!! AWESOME shot!!! wow... this is such a cool shot. with the depth of field you've caught a glimpse into what both subjects are thinking..... sweetness. I LOVE the boys look... great, great job. Posted by mikelangelo on May 11, 2007 10:24 PMI'm surprised he takes care of his fingernails! I was always a biter, haha. Love the depth of field. It's perfect, the background is just blurry enough. Great great great Posted by Michael George on May 11, 2007 10:27 PMImpossible not to love this one. I think my fav part is the contrasting smile and then what appears to be a frown on the frog. Posted by ROB on May 12, 2007 12:28 AMWonderful, comic image; the depth of field on this is just perfect and the frog's expression is very amusing. Posted by LwS on May 12, 2007 6:05 AMThis is like an advertisement for what summertime and kids is all about. Perfection! Posted by Laurie on May 12, 2007 6:49 AMIt ain't easy being green, but it does make for a ribeting photo with a twist of kid thrown in. Posted by JPH on May 12, 2007 12:19 PMI don't know, David Tinnon, you have some serious competition lately from JPH in the Hilarious Comments Department! :D Posted by Kathleen on May 12, 2007 2:10 PMWith 4 sons I live this type of shot everyday. Love it! You started it. Posted by david tinnon on May 13, 2007 12:35 AMMelody's comment begs for a balance. My daughters(4) caught lizards, frogs and snakes.....it least they did till they discovered phones, makeup and boys. I have 4 boys also, but the older ones still catch LF&S even after discovering girls. There, that's balanced....? Posted by david tinnon on May 13, 2007 11:54 AMCheeky smile! Grumpy frog. Love it!
