Wheat Field
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken today in the 90 degree heat. The wheat is grown by the Thaler dairy farm. They use the stalk of the plant for straw (made into bedding for the cows and calves) and they sell the grain to ConAgra Mills, a company that processes the grain into flour. Thank you for visiting Durham Township! -- Kathleen Comments
Oh, my God. I have no words for it... Oh, my God. I have no words for it... Truly the "Saul" of the wheat field. I Samuel 9:2c Posted by JPH on June 1, 2007 5:35 AMI love the whimsical nature of this shot. It made me smile as soon as I saw it. Posted by Laurie on June 1, 2007 5:40 AMNice, Kathleen. I really like this. Posted by mjulius on June 1, 2007 7:25 AMVery nice, Kathleen. Like that one standing taller than all the others. Posted by Otto K. on June 1, 2007 8:35 AMI knew exactly what lens was used here. Beautiful shot Kathleen, I love that depth, it's very natural, as if I'm viewing the scene with my own eyes. Posted by Justin Gaynor on June 1, 2007 8:54 AMGorgeous...almost abstract. Posted by Angry Buddha on June 1, 2007 10:18 AMIt just goes to show, there's one in every crowd.....and a graphic metaphor for a photoblog I could mention. (You kept dry this time I assume!) Lovely minimal image...and it's June 1st....get it? Thx at 5006? P.S. Con Agra sell any of the straw as goat feed....really? Posted by david tinnon on June 1, 2007 10:34 AMVery nice selective focus. I like that one lone stalk that rises above the crowd. Posted by Russ on June 1, 2007 11:08 AM

Posted by Gerald on June 1, 2007 11:54 AMLove the focus here, perfectly done. Posted by Jeff Ambrose on June 1, 2007 1:46 PMI like the focus here and that one lone stalk is above the rest. Posted by Daniel on June 1, 2007 3:20 PMGreat photograph. I've been following your photo's for a short time now and must admit i like your style! The DOF in this picture has worked out perfectly. Posted by matthijs on June 1, 2007 4:59 PMReally like this shot! The DOF and the single piece of wheat is gorgeous! Posted by Renato on June 1, 2007 6:08 PMWow, incredible shot. I love the DoF that you chose. Nice work. Posted by Steve on June 1, 2007 6:51 PMThis one literally brought tears to my eyes. Thank-you for sharing your art. Posted by Sara on June 1, 2007 7:08 PMWhat makes you so high and mighty? Where do you think you are going? show off! How dare you stand out from the crowd! We think you're a little greener! We think you're a little healthier! You can't be better than us! We're going to complain to the Farm Bureau! You must have received preferential planting: the best spot, more fertilizer, more water, more sunlight or something! Aren't you ashamed? Don't you feel bad for the rest of us? You need to give us what you never should have gotten in the first place or we will file a petition with the Department of Agriculture to have it taken from you. We need to be the same so no one has their feelings hurt. Why are you working so hard anyway? We have been told that we are entitled to grow; it's our right. We earned it you know. Get with the program! We have been exploited for years. Work, work, work and end up as a piece of toast! It's just not fair! Posted by Willow on June 2, 2007 7:59 AMBonjour, thats incredible :) thank you very much for sharing! Posted by chemic on June 2, 2007 10:42 AMDOF, DOF, DOF, big deal! this shot looks grainy to me...and Willow, try decaf, the dude is only trying to get better reception....tough enough growing up in a fringe area....and Sara, could be hay (O.K. Kathleen, straw) fever kicking in. Hahahahhahaha David Tinnon, I should officially hire you to comment on my comments.
