Wheat Field

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

This photo was taken today in the 90 degree heat.

The wheat is grown by the Thaler dairy farm. They use the stalk of the plant for straw (made into bedding for the cows and calves) and they sell the grain to ConAgra Mills, a company that processes the grain into flour.

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon 180mm f3.5L lens at 180mm, ISO 100, shutter speed 1/1250s, aperture f/3.5. Curves, color balancing.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

That one stalk of wheat pulls the eye forward. This is so simple, yet works well! Nice work, Kathleen. I always enjoy reading the story behind your photos, too.

Kathleen,

you take pictures that i dream about taking. absolutely phenomenal. your images are certainly worth a thousand words. i am sure you are incredibly busy, and dont know if you will actually ever see this or not, but i would be HONORED if you would take a look at some of my pictures and critique them. i want to improve so badly.

if you do view them, please send me any comments at petersondj@jbu.edu. again, i would be honored to have someone as skilled as you provide me with some constructive criticsm.

have a most marvelous day.
