Crabapple Tree
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken on Monday as I was out running errands in the pouring rain. The fog was at higher elevations. Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
Beautiful low-contrast, warm-toned work. The delicate yet complex form of the tree is really something in front of the busy background. Excellent crop as well. Posted by Andrew on April 29, 2008 12:28 AMMystical. Posted by Gator on April 29, 2008 1:24 AMBeautiful shot! I like the contrast between the tree and the foggy background. Posted by yz on April 29, 2008 3:33 AMVery smooth et zen shot. I love this one. Posted by Tom on April 29, 2008 3:40 AMBeautifully captured blooming of a crabapple tree. The mist gives nice boost to perspective. I like it a lot. Posted by Tero on April 29, 2008 4:31 AMVeiled in fog the forest does surround Wonderful shot, I absolutely love the lighting. Posted by Otto K. on April 29, 2008 9:21 PMKathleen, Love the pastel feel of this image, the mist/dust really adds to that. Excellent!! Posted by Ryan R. on April 30, 2008 12:01 AMKathleen I love all your images but this one is hard to beat. Beautiful! Tone and exposure and setting, phew it is just wonderful. Ian Posted by Ian Brodie on April 30, 2008 5:49 AMThe contrast of colors, the grainy texture of the fog against the tree's own soft texture just fit together so well. You never cease to amaze me...this shot is so beautiful with a slight bit of eeriness. Just wonderful. Posted by Merritt on April 30, 2008 9:33 AMSTUNNING IMAGE! Wonderful Posted by padraig on April 30, 2008 11:22 AMwow! Posted by aminTorres on April 30, 2008 4:25 PMWOW! I wish I could say oh I was just running errands and... ;))))))) Posted by kayt on May 1, 2008 12:11 AMOtherworldly. Tree of Life. Taking it to the nest level. I recently spent a few hours looking through a Digital Artist publication. Personally I liked the matte paintings best and this "real image" sets a mood that would easily have earned a "Masters" rating by the staff. (I guess the 30 preceding comments attest to the same conclusion.) I've also been watching the "Planet Earth" series this week so this shot fits right in quality-wise......just not the same planet apparently. (Have to change the name of that tree though Kathleen, you can't have a vision like this and call it a "crabapple" anything.....really!) Thanks for the trip to where ever it is you've taken us. Posted by david tinnon on May 1, 2008 2:10 AM Great colours and tones Posted by LwS on May 1, 2008 3:48 AMFabulous! The pink against the grey, the large trees mimicking the shape of the dogwood. Perfect exposure and light. Posted by Anita Bower on May 1, 2008 3:26 PMWow! This is truly wonderful. The tree is made even more lovely by the rain and fog. I love the warm tone too. I think this one made my week! Posted by Laurie on May 2, 2008 8:39 AMlovely tones, very nice. /J Posted by minimodi on May 4, 2008 12:59 PMLovely Tree. It just speaks to my heart!! Gorgeous! /Anneli Posted by Anneli on June 3, 2008 6:43 AMKathleen this is stunning .... I need to get over there to do some photography. Posted by james mcmanus on June 20, 2008 4:14 AMAnother absolutely gorgeous shot. I love how colour is restricted to the lower half and how effective the green is with the pink, and the little tree is contextualized with the monochrome upper portion which bears its own interest of branches in the fog. Beautiful shot! Posted by John Zeweniuk on July 7, 2008 1:57 AMStunning! Posted by Jesse Moscoe on July 11, 2008 10:21 AMI am seriously in awe... I haven't seen such beautiful photographs... ever.
