Blowing Bubbles

This photo was taken a couple of evenings ago -- the late day sunlight really makes a beautiful glow on the bubbles.

Happy Independence Day to all you Americans out there!

I'll be on vacation for a few days -- see you next week.

Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 70mm, ISO 200, f/2.8, 1/250s. Curves adjustment, color balancing.

Thanks for visiting Durham Township!

Beautiful colors in this image. Love your focus on the bubbles..and the colors within.

Happy Independence Day to you too!
What a beautiful, shimmery, shiny, transcendent, playful image. Takes me back to 4th of July's with relatives...katydid's and cicadas chirping and droning, everyone all sticky with humidity holding paper plates full of food and us kids running around looking for things to do. Fun.

It's the 2008 Durham Township half-time intermission; get a drink, make some popcorn, use the potty, and be back in time for the second half!

I just love action shots!

Independence Day is a rather nice perk
For the many of us pausing from the normal days work.
But for those who defend and protect our great nation
This can hardly be a day of vacation.
So as we gather to watch the parade passing by
Let's be thankful that fireworks, not bombs, light up the night sky.
Yes, we are so blessed, in boom or in bust
Will we still say with our forefathers "In God is our trust"?

Very fun image with appealing mix of colors. Just proves sharp focus is not “a must” for a pleasing image. Great shot!

On this Independence Day, we find our Nation in the grasp of outside influences; influences that are bent on the destruction of our way of life. We seem happy to be controlled by others. We complain and affix blame only as far as we are directed to. We are content to let others lead us, to think for us, to provide for us, to quietly give away our freedoms. We let others inflate and deflate us to suit their needs; to have us drift skyward, with no purpose or hope, or to create internal conflict so that we fracture and devolve in to a country of slaves.

Do we still have unity enough as Americans to take back that which has been fought and died for so many times in our brief history, or are we destined to be unwitting subjects to an unknown master, whose sole mission is our ultimate destruction?

Fly your flags proudly today, my friends, and hope that we may awaken in time to celebrate another Fourth of July.
