Great Egret (Ardea alba)
PHOTOGRAPH INFO Although we have Great Egrets in Durham Township, this photo was taken at Barnegat Bay, New Jersey, where I spent a week swimming, relaxing and observing wildlife. It was a wonderfully foggy day with excellent soft light to photograph birds. I was sitting on the edge of a marina pier when this Egret flew overhead. The Great Egret is the symbol of the National Audubon Society, one of the oldest environmental organizations in North America. Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments:
Fantastic, like others photos Very good job. Thanks Posted by Javier salvatierra at December 29, 2008 6:48 PMMiracle. Posted by pat at January 9, 2009 9:10 AMI grew up in Phillipsburg, New Jersey and used to go to the shore in the summer. I had never seen an Egret like that when I was there. I live in Ventura, Ca. now and we have a lot of different birds I want to photograph and I hope they turn out as nice as yours.
