Tulip Poplar with Ice and Snow Coat

Photograph info: Photographed Monday morning. Since then we've had another 7" of snow.

Sorry for the lag ... I'll be posting a bunch of shots from November & December before Christmas.

Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens at 200mm, ISO 400, f/2.8, 1/4000s. Basic curves adjustments.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Branches contorted as they try
To reach from the earth to the sky.
Dark arms and fingers frosted with snow.
Black and white replaces autumn's colorful show.

Beautiful diagonal gradation of shape and tone. A pleasure for the eyes, an ominous chill to the feet!

Lovely! Lovely! Those Durham trees put on a show no matter what time of year it is.

Hi Kathleen,

Beautiful shot. Great to see still you're around. One of the few photoblogs that survived from the "old" days :-)
And one that I admire very much. Awesome work.
